A crash of the king-salmon population in Alaska is rippling through the state's tourism-depdent economy. In July, Gov. Sean Parnell asked the Obama administration to declare a fishery disaster for the Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers and warned one might also be needed for the Kenai, shown.  The fish, which can measure up to 58 inches and weigh up to 130 pounds, are the centerpiece of a sportfishing industry valued at $1.4 billion annually. But for unclear reasons, the kings' mass seasonal migrations—known as runs—have plummeted across Alaska..
