Thursday 19 September 2019

Air Date:

JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW
Co-hosts: Sebastian Gorka, America First radio; and Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents.

Hour One
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 1, Block A:  Sebastian Gorka,
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 1, Block B:  Sebastian Gorka, in re:  Elizabeth Warren has promised to cut off fracking on her first day in office* and confiscate private property in the form of Wall Street corporations.  “Hell yes, we’re coming after your guns.” Oops.
*Although the Constitution doesn't make that possible.
We were told these would never happen, to take off our tinfoil hats. But here they are, out of the closet. The Party of Scoop Jackson is dead and buried.
JB: My rational explanation is that Americans vote on the economy, which is gangbusters, and he Democrats aren't able to speak of economics.
SG:  That’s your first error – being rational. Even without the matter of the economy they’d still be making the same claims: this is the result of Gramsci and of their belief in Utopianism.  No way on God’s green Earth that Biden’s campaign will survive; it's Warren’s to lose: the outcome of decades and decades of anti-American politics.
Warren, in her righteousness and virtue-signalling, is leading the Democratic Party to McGovern’s wilderness. The Democratic Party is no longer tethered to reality; no adults left in the room.
Greg Jarrett agrees, not only did Comey break the law in leaking info, but he appears to have framed General Mike Flynn.

Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 1, Block C: Chris Riegel, Scala.com, in re:  Clear lines of differentiation between private industry and government exists in some countries, not others.  In 2013, Microsoft refused to hand over to the US data on drug dealers in Ireland; Microsoft maintains its own State Department with hordes of employees.
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 1, Block D: Devin Nunes, House Intelligence Committee; in re: Dan Tisch on the eight-hour Democratic town hall.
Harris laughed when she said yes, she’d ban plastic straws.
Warren: She’d ban fracking on her first day in office – thereby guaranteeing that she’d never get the votes of Western Pennsylvania.
Fracking has made us the world’s energy superpower; rendered us much less susceptible to t he vagaries of the oil and gas world. If no fracking, what clean energy source? Wind and solar simply won't work these days, and he Democrats are antinuclear. Above all, the batteries to store wind or solar power don't exist today.
The IG, Michael Horowitz, recommended that the FBI director by prosecuted for leaks
The long-awaited FISA report . . .  appears that this will not look good for the FBI, or for the FISA court. Can be used by Justice, go to Mr Durham, US Attorney in Connecticut, to provide transparency, and to get answers to: Who are all these players? Finally, will there be any criminal prosecutions?

Hour Two
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 2, Block A:  Malcolm Hoenlein, in re: Current Israeli politics, especially the unusual elections – wherein no resolution, and Blue and White say, “No unity!” Netanyahu ran against Netanyahu, and lost . . .
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 2, Block B:  Ambassador Danny Danon, in re: The UN, the Israeli election, regional threats. I’ve taken a hundred UN ambassadors to Israel, to the Lebanese border. And shown them the exact situation. With all due respect to UNIFIL, it's not effective [the soldiers sit in their rooms and simply don't budge]. UNIFIL gets a half-billion dollars annually for the UN.   We asked UNIFIL either to go into a village where Hizbollah is hiding missiles, including in certain houses, or else notify the UN formally of this – and UNIFIL refused both.  The Lebanese army is being funded by Europe and the US, is much infiltrated by Hizbollah.

Danny Danon was a member of Knesset from February 2009 until August 2015 and served as Deputy Minister of Defense from March 2013 until July 2014. In May 2015 he was appointed Minister of Science, Technology, and Space, serving until his appointment in August 2015 as Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations.
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 2, Block C:  Consul-General Sandeep Chakravorty, of the Republic of India, in re: Kashmir, Jammu, Ladakh.  Forty thousand people have died in the last years; Modi has removed the anomaly to protect it from violence and make the region a state in India, with all normal rights of Indian citizens.  Pakistan has only one agenda, is obsessed with India. See the government tweets. My Prime Minister will speak [at the UN General Assembly] of multiple topics, including with it means to be a democracy. “Most states have an army; in the case of Pakistan, the army has a state.”   We do not covet any territory of Pakistan; all this has no basis in law. In a New York Times op-ed, Pakistan used that forum to threaten India with nuclear war. When Pakistan was formed, it was 23% non-Muslim; now it’s 3%.  India is the opposite. This is not a Hindu-Muslim issue; India has 200 million Muslims – the second-largest Muslim population in the world after Indonesia.  Even in Jammu—Kashmir-Ladakh, there are multiple minorities.  Pakistan tries to convey itself as a victim – but they back the Taliban, gave refuge to bin Ladin, are militarily active in Afghanistan. Extremely good relations between India and Israel.  Three democracies need to work closely together: US, India, Israel, including in the private sector.

Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 2, Block D: Eli Lake, in re: Robert O’Brien’s promotion as national security advisor, & implications of the Saudi Aramco attack on future US-Iran policies. After the September 14 missile strike on Saudi Arabia: the world energy supply is much more resilient than it was a decade ago; however, it looks as though Iran has a free hand to attack US allies in the region since it’s received no punition for its deed. Wobbly states like Qatar may think it’s [less wise] to align with the US.  . . .  Embers of a democratic revolution in Iran.

Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 3, Block C:  Andrew C. McCarthy III, American columnist for National Review; served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, & author, Ball of Collusion; and Thaddeus McCotter, WJR and recovering Congressman; in re: Cory Lewandoski, Jerry Nadler.  Congressional hearing claiming that Cory Lewandowski was urged by Pres Trump to tell Jeff Sessions to tell Mueller not to interfere in future elections.
Chairman Nadler’s entire circus in based on a fiction: the notion that presidential interference in a national intelligence operation could be called obstruction of justice (even if he had, which he clearly did not0; and it cannot, because the president is in charge of intelligence resources.  This is the distinction between a counterintelligence and a criminal investigation. Nadler knows this, and is holding a hearing that cannot succeed.
Because of its peculiarities, this is actually helping the Republicans.  Note national, regional, and personal political considerations.
Thursday 19 September 2019/ Hour 3, Block D:  Andrew C. McCarthy III, American columnist for National Review; served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, & author,  Ball of Collusion; and Thaddeus McCotter, WJR and recovering Congressman; in re:  IG Horowitz recommended criminal prosecution vs the head of the FBI, Comey, for leaking.  First time such a thing has ever occurred.  A long-term blot on the reputation of the FBI.    Horowitz is being scrupulous and hyper-careful. Comey gave memos to his aides, who were not authorized to receive them, that turned out to contain secure information, a violation of the Espionage Act.
