Thursday 25 June 2020

Air Date:
June 25, 2020

JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW
Colleagues: Sebastian Gorka, America First radio and Fox; and Malcolm Hoenlein, Conference of Presidents

Hour One
Thursday 25 June 2020 / Hour 1, Block A:  Victor Davis Hanson, Hoover senior Fellow, and author, The Case for Trump; in re: Urban Americans in cities are suffering a perfect storm: call 911 and get a busy signal; streets dirty; invisible mayor; my food supply, water, even sewerage, are all unreliable.  Also, can get business done with city folk and live in the countryside.  Rustic bumpkins.  Globalization early on was a collection of city-states. Now, some are happy to relearn the facts of life and Nature.  Trump is a product of the city but represents the countryside.  Biden represented small states and the working man; now has no further appeal to working classes.  Is cognitively unable to finish a sentence.   The worst thing you can do with people with cognitive impairment is isolate them, as they need stimulation.
Thursday 25 June 2020 / Hour 1, Block B: Victor Davis Hanson, Hoover senior Fellow, and author, The Case for Trump; in re: Anger over inconsistent applications of lockdown, where people are trying to make a living.  Trump has got into dead-end scraps with media people; all he needs to do is speak of his foreign policy successes, solid pro-American stances.  Barr and Durham.  Biden was in the room in the 5 Jan 2017 meeting; will he pay a penalty?  He can say, “I have no recollection of that” and everyone will believe him.  But—Ukraine, China, Hunter Biden.  He can’t fashion a statement on his last days in the Obama administration. Polls emerging that people are tired of the violence.  Trump could win in a landslide. Media are clueless.
Thursday 25 June 2020 / Hour 1, Block C:  Veronique de Rugy, Mercatus Center, in re: H1B visas stopped.  USCIS office, which screens and certifies arrivals, is closed at least till the end of the year.  Now, isn’t processing the people who are waiting.  My colleague, an Englishman, is potentially in trouble.  With USCIS out of applicants, it’s out of money; will shrink personnel by 70%. We stand to lose a large number of highly-qualified workers. The entire governmental physical process is antiquated beyond belief.
Thursday 25 June 2020 / Hour 1, Block D:  John Matze, Parler CEO, in re:  As an alternative to twitter.   CEO of Parler, pronounced "par-ler."   New since 218 social media platform resembling Twitter.  Without the noise of the Cancel Culture.  Freedom of speech practiced up to the FCC guidelines and legal dimensions.  Freshly favored by Conservatives in the UK and conservatives in the US
Lots of excitement in London because conservative MPs are joining the site.  Goal is to promote free speech and discussion, get the flow going again without censorship; a real town square.  Seems to be friendlier than are other platforms.  Post anything allowed by the FCC or the Supreme Court.   Freedom of speech is making a big comeback.

Hour Two
Thursday 25 June 2020 / Hour 2, Block A:  Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, in re: Syria, Lebanon, Covid.
As head of the International Media Branch of the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus is the IDF's Spokesperson to the world. Lt. Col. Conricus is responsible for the public affairs and public diplomacy of the IDF in both traditional and social media and leads a team of more than 50 highly talented Israeli men and women. Lt. Col. Conricus has been serving in the IDF for 20 years in various capacities, including combat experience in Lebanon and Gaza as a platoon and company commander, while focussing the majority of his military service on international relations and military diplomacy.
