JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW

Hour One
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 1, Block A: On the Road to Baku:  Elizabeth Peek, @LizPeek, Fox News and TheHill; in re:   John Batchelor in Azerbaijan watching the war brought to a halt by a ceasefire.  The global pandemic and the recovery from it.  Spectacular news from London: a 90-year-old grandmother was the first to receive the vaccine. This country cannot recover unless we recover from Covid; lockdowns are not working.  Ninety per cent of the population are now wearing masks.  Last week, Christmas tree sales were up 29%.  This week, up 30%.  Retailers think online ales will be up 20-30%, but brick and mortar is holding its own. Could end if Cuomo, et al., close down businesses.  “Please—wait till after Christmas!”

Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 1, Block B: On the Road to Baku:  Elizabeth Peek, @LizPeek, Fox News and TheHill; in re:  The successful 44-day conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.  The compromise of the Biden family in connection with China. Unanswered questions.    Zero commentary from them on Hunter Biden. Everyone knew he’d traded on this father’s name to gain lucrative deals in China, Ukraine, and elsewhere. The [shocking] information in the emails, which has ever been denied.  Biden has always been soft on China. He’s eager to go back into the multinational organization that have served out country very poorly for years, and Biden will be pressed by big tech and corporations. The Organization of 100: American leaders kowtowed to Chinese, who were undercutting them. Years later, China no longer is making T-shirts, it’s making jet fighters and satellites.  Our biggest geopolitical weapon is energy independence.
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 1, Block C: On the Road to Baku:  Elvin Umudov, Deputy Governor, Tartar District, Azerbaijan; in re:  Near the old Line of Control, which now has moved into Nagorno-Karabakh.  We’ve inspected the areas where missiles rained down on you in November. During those 44 days, all the residents here lived live as normally. Every singer day our city was attacked by Armenian forces, shelled us daily, continuously. Almost 2,000 shells land on our district daily.  Moore than 6,000 missiles were launched on our district. More than 83 residential buildings and 2,500 private homes were damaged.  About 40 public bldgs, and 70 business bldgs., and 25 administrative bldgs, and 11 cemeteries were damaged. We explained this to the children: all residents of Tartar, including elderly and children, coalesced around  our president. We granted him all our support. Seventeen civilians killed, 60 wounded. Many moved into the basement and lived life there.    We heard news of the prosecution of the war in the basements.  Restoration process is already under way.  Outside where we are is a grim line-up of rockets and warheads.
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 1, Block D: On the Road to Baku:  Tabib Azizov, resident of the Tartar District and retired law enforcement, refugee from Nagorno-Karabakh; in re: I first welcome our audience. I was a law-enforcement official and know what it is to live in wartime. These 44 days were nonetheless a new experience. On some days, 2,000 rockets landed on our district.  Because we’ve lived here for a long time, and were on the Line of Control, we stockpiled food and water.  If it depended on me, I'd immediately move back to my home village in Nagorno-Karabakh and build a house. It's not up to me.  My children, esp my sons, will return. Not sure about my grandchildren. My message to American society is to ask you to enforce and facilitate our return to our homeland.  We believe that the peace we now enjoy will endure for a long time, and future generations will coexist in peace and harmony.  I note that the neighboring village to ours was Armenian. We always lived together comfortably.

Hour Two
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 2, Block A:  On the Road to Baku:  Elin Suleymanov,  @ElinSuleymanov, @azembassyus, ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Washington; and Brenda Shaffer: @ProfBShaffer  @FDD; Georgetown; in re:  The holes from missiles were shocking, along with the children’s toys and teddy bears.  The people of Ganja, Tartar and Barda are recovering.  We lost 2,800 military and 96 civilians.  We can finally build a lasting peace with Armenia.  The people of Azerbaijan:  One in ten is a refugee from the war.  Most who had to leave 27 years ago dream of returning to the family village. However, the adversary left severe damage: mines everywhere and trees cut down.  Unfortunately, they burned houses, mined fields, killed animals. Incomprehensible.   That’s out of the decades of indoctrination of hatred.  For a long time, the US sponsored de-mining projects—which actually helped to [know how to?] place mines. The solution is for Armenian and Azerbaijani people to learn to live together, build railways highways, communications.   This is what Israel looked like in 2003 [Gaza]; people who live in this region know the real price of the war, as distinct from the people living outside.
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 2, Block B:  On the Road to Baku: Gregory R Copley: Defense and Foreign Affairs; Gregory R Copley, The New Total War of the Twenty-first Century and the Trigger of the Fear Pandemic, in re:  Azerbaijan now has a direct land bride to Europe, The Armenian PM will soon leave.  The Armenian enclave, Nakhchivan.  Russia has been in this region since 1804; Moscow wants to retain a land bridge into the Middle East and Iran.  Linkage between Russia and Iran: a mutual distaste and mutual need. A  new alliance between Russia, Iran, China, to create a geopolitical space the US can't reach. Turkey: Azerbaijan has grown strong on its own and with Israel’s help; there are Turkish flags all along the roads in Azerbaijan.
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 2, Block C:  On the Road to Baku: Ilham Mummadov, Deputy Governor of Barda District, Azerbaijan, in re:  In the Barda district, a front-line district before the Line of Control moved far forward.  Heavily shelled and rocketed. First shelling was on 5 October.  First, I express my gratitude to you for visiting our region during this difficult pandemic time, and for delivering our message to the world.  Between 10 and 11 PM the shelling began; nine people died. Numerous casualties; several houses were utterly demolished.  There’s no military activity in the Barda district, so I have to conclude that this was to terrorize you.  Our estimate is that more than 130 houses were damaged, half quite destroyed.   In general, infrastructure was damaged. The people of Barda: this made us even stronger we're resilient, and coalesce around out leaders, will never give up. We’re not afraid of Armenian terrorist attacks. Bombing does not work.
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 2, Block D:  On the Road to Baku: Bob Zimmerman BehindtheBlack.com; in re:  Chuck Yeager and the Space Shuttle.  Chang’e to the Moon.

Hour Three
Tuesday 8 December 2020 / Hour 3, Block A: On the Road to Baku:  Elizabeth Peek, @LizPeek, Fox News and TheHill; in re:   John Batchelor in Azerbaijan watching the war brought to a halt by a ceasefire.  The global pandemic and the recovery from it.  Spectacular news from London: a 90-year-old grandmother was the first to receive the vaccine.
